My name is Paul R. Hewlett and I am the author of the Lionel’s Grand Adventure series. Lionel’s Christmas Adventure: Lionel Learns the True Meaning of Christmas is the third book in the series and my newest release. My debut book Lionel’s Grand Adventure: Lionel and the Golden Rule was released in December of 2011, followed by Lionel Turns the Other Cheek in March of 2012. In addition to writing the Lionel’s Grand Adventure books, I co-author a middle grade/young adult blog called Sher A. Hart: My Written Art.

I am forty-one years old and live in Illinois in the United States of America. I live with my wife and adopted "senior" dog name JoJo. Hobbies include baseball (the Chicago White Sox), reading, hiking (we live minutes away from a beautiful state park), and enjoying the sun (when it's out and warm in Illinois which isn't very often). I also have a nineteen year old daughter I am very proud of

I am an advocate of getting children to read and using their imagination. Getting children to read is the primary reason I have written the Lionel's Grand Adventure series. I believe the benefits of reading are countless. By combining a bit of fantasy, magic, humor, a main character everyone can relate to, and a relatively short story, I believe even reluctant readers may be inclined to read. Children are the future and getting them to read should be every communities primary objective.
Here is a brief synopsis of Lionel's Grand Adventure: Lionel and the Golden Rule:
Meet Lionel as he arrives in Larrystown and discovers the magical Three-Toed-Potbellied Walbaun foot. Follow him as he finds out what it is, uses it for the first time, and learns a valuable lesson. This humorous story about a loveable boy is perfect for young readers and even those “reluctant readers.”

Currently I am working on the fourth book in the Lionel's Grand Adventure series, tentatively titled Winners Never Cheat. I am also in the beginning stages of issuing Lionel and the Golden Rule and Lionel Turns the Other Cheek in paperback, complete with chapter illustrations. I have a picture book concept that has been gathering dust I may bring out, and I hope to collaborate with a fellow author friend of mine on a novel.
